Sustainable Energy Management Plan Workshop

This workshop teaches a methodological approach to developing a Sustainable Energy Management Plan (SEMP) that yields long-term savings. You’ll learn all about the elements of a SEMP and how to customize the approach for your organization. Templates and case examples will be provided.
(Participants in this workshop are also invited to take part in the Industrial Energy Manager Round Table, later in the afternoon.)

A two-part workshop for design professionals, code officials and building owners who want a comprehensive overview of the newest ASHRAE commercial building energy codes. ASHRAE Standards 90.1-1989, 90.1-1999, and 90.1-2001 have been the benchmarks for commercial building codes in the United States and a key basis for standards in more than 15 countries around the world. On day one, we’ll cover the 2004 and 2007 versions in detail, as well as proven methods for compliance.

SPOT the Energy Savings Opportunities Workshop

Did you know that the difference in operating costs can make energy-efficient motors less expensive than regular motors? Or that compressed air can be your single most expensive utility? Developed by Natural Resources Canada’s Office of Energy Efficiency, this workshop will help you understand energy basics and identify easy and immediate opportunities to save. Anyone from energy managers to floor personnel can learn to identify and prioritize opportunities for compressed air systems, fans, lighting, motors and more.

Day two of this workshop focuses on the ASHRAE Standard’s Appendix G, which provides invaluable guidance for exceeding the requirements of the standard. We will explain the appendix’s use through a number of examples using eQUEST, and we’ll also cover energy simulations connected with LEED credits and energy tax credits. Finally, you’ll learn about qualifying for incentives available for new construction under Power Smart’s High Performance Building Design Program.
